Kerlink LoRaWAN Gateways: Why Are They Guaranteed for Life?

Our Wirnet gateway range comes with a lifetime warranty, and this is directly tied to how we design, manufacture, and maintain our products. With an average after-sales return rate of 0.1%, our indoor and outdoor gateways rank among the most robust and reliable on the IoT market.

In summary: why choose a Kerlink gateway guaranteed for life?

  • After-sales return rate of 0.1% (vs. 2–8% for the market)
  • Unit testing on 100% of gateways before shipping
  • French manufacturing with NADCAP-certified partners
  • Proactive network monitoring via Wanesy Management Center

A return rate of just 0.1%

The average after-sales return rate in the IoT sector typically ranges between 2% and 8%, depending on product tier and deployment conditions. Kerlink’s average return rate is 0.1%, far below the market average.

In practice, such a low failure rate translates directly into:

  • A reduced total cost of ownership: fewer replacements, less logistics, fewer technician trips.
  • Fewer network interruptions: a gateway that doesn’t fail is a gateway that doesn’t create an incident.
  • Less operational burden: purchasing processes, RMA management, and remote diagnostics all carry real costs at scale.

Our engineering choices that make all the difference

Robust components

Every component in our gateways is selected not only for its performance, but for its durability over time. For example, at Kerlink we use extended temperature-range components, which age more slowly under field conditions and therefore extend the product’s operational lifespan.

Our technical teams carefully study the characteristics of each component, taking real-world use cases into account: outdoor environments, industrial sites, exposed infrastructure.

Lab-validated before reaching the field

Kerlink gateways undergo thorough qualification testing (water resistance, surge protection, environmental stress testing) carried out in the laboratory. This is an active validation of the design, used to improve the product as early as the engineering phase.

Made in France, tested one by one!

Our gateways are manufactured in France, in close collaboration with our local partners. This proximity gives us very fine-grained control over quality at every stage of the production process. Our partners hold recognized certifications such as NADCAP certification, a globally recognized accreditation system for special processes in aerospace.

Each gateway is individually tested before leaving the factory. 100% of units go through a functional test bench designed and built by Kerlink, which verifies that all functions behave correctly and that externally sourced components meet their specifications. No product is allowed to leave without passing this test.

This level of production rigor is rare in the IoT hardware industry. It’s one of the fundamental reasons why our failure rate is so low.

Beyond hardware: monitoring that prevents failures before they happen

Our network management platform, “Wanesy Management Center,” enables continuous monitoring of deployed gateways, with anomaly detection and proactive recommendations.

This means that:

  • Potential issues are identified remotely, before they become failures.
  • Operators receive recommendations to avoid unnecessary field interventions.
  • Installation and mounting guidance provided by Kerlink also reduces risks linked to poor deployment conditions.

This approach shifts maintenance from reactive to predictive, reducing the total number of incidents and lowering the cost of field interventions.

The expertise behind the product

The robustness of Kerlink gateways is also the result of accumulated expertise.

Our engineering team combines deep skills in mechatronics, RF systems, embedded software, and network infrastructure. This multidisciplinary experience is built into every design decision, from component selection to thermal management to connector specification.

Production is held to an extremely high standard of rigor, the result of years of field feedback and a clear commitment to building products that last.
